The use of free technologies(GNU/Linux) to promote an agency of gender

In the audio-visual tecnoculture.

 

 

GENERATECH is an initiative of Investigation - action that promotes agency of gender in the audio-visual tecnoculture trought free software. It is a question of creating spaces of coordination and collaboration between associations, groups and persons to extend and to defend the free traffic of knowledges, experiences, skills and technologies, in the field of the reflection and critical action of the relations of gender at present.

 

We claim: 

 

  • To know the free technologies of audio-visual production by means of workshops of formation and interchange between associations.
  • To realize meetings in which knowledges and experiences are interchanged on subject matters and forms of expression.
  • To create a platform of audio-visual contents where to be able to hang audio-visual productions on subject matters of gender.

    Planned performances:

     

  • Formation in Free Sofware's tools for audio-visual production (October – November 2007).
  • Meeting formation, collaboration and interchange of audio-visual projects on subject matters of gender from the use of the free software (December 6 and 7 2007).
  • Seminar of debate of the relations between gender and technology, on December 8 2007 as continuation of the Days of the previous days.
  • Formation to associations of different Autonomous Communities in tools of Free Software for audio-visual production (2008).
  • To rest to associations on the production of audio-visual materials that reflect her interests and worries (2008).
  • To construct a digital platform for the interchange of audio-visual material in relation to gender (2007).
  • To organize samples they attend of audio-visual productions (2007-08).
  • Production of a video on the process spread across the virtual created platform (2007-08).
